IEQAS-Certified Universities in KoreaAs announced by the Korean Ministry of Education, February 2025

IEQAS (International Education Quality Assurance System) is the Korean Ministry of Education's certification program evaluating universities' management of international students and quality of international education. The system applies SEPARATELY to degree programs and language programs, with a total of 334 certified institutions and 20 universities under enhanced visa scrutiny.

How the categories work

  • Degree programs (Associate / Bachelor / Master / Doctorate) and language programs are evaluated INDEPENDENTLY.
  • A university can be certified in both, just one, or have no program at all.
  • 'Excellent' tier = certified in BOTH degree and language programs PLUS additional 'Excellent' designation.
  • 'Visa-restricted' means Korea Ministry of Justice applies stricter visa scrutiny for applicants from that university.
