Six TOPIK tests remain in 2026, starting with the IBT on September 12

As of August 14, 2026, two PBT tests, three IBT tests, and one speaking assessment remain this year for the Test of Proficiency in Korean (TOPIK). The nearest test is the 14th IBT on September 12, and scores will be released on October 2.

According to the National Institute for International Education's official 2026 notice, PBT, IBT, and speaking assessments will be held consecutively in October. One PBT and one IBT test each remain in November.

Remaining test dates for the second half of 2026

PBT and IBT differ in the number of questions, scoring, and test time even for the same TOPIK I or II level. PBT TOPIK II has listening, reading, and writing for a total of 300 points over 180 minutes, while IBT TOPIK II covers the same three areas for a total of 600 points over 125 minutes. First check the test format and level required by the university or institution to which you plan to apply.

TOPIK website for tests in Korea, local registration bodies for overseas tests

Registration for tests in Korea is completed online through the TOPIK website. Overseas tests follow the schedules and procedures of the administering organization in each country. The official annual notice does not list the registration opening and closing dates or test sites for each test number.

Test schedules can also change depending on circumstances at administering organizations in Korea and overseas. Before taking the test, check the relevant test-number notice on the TOPIK website again for the registration period, test region, and test site.
