Privacy Policy

Data We Collect

K-Study Times collects only the minimum data required to operate the service and respond to readers.

• Login and comments: email, optional name, optional profile image, article identifier, comment body, and timestamps
• Rights requests: name, email, optional phone, article URL, request title, and request details
• Student-support requests: name, country, preferred language, contact method, contact value, interest area, sourcePage/contentId/ctaVariant, and optional UTM attribution fields
• Newsletter sign-up intents: email, optional name, preferred language, and privacy/newsletter/marketing consent flags
• Technical and analytics data: access logs, security audit logs, page path, referrer, locale, an anonymous visitor token or session token, and optional UTM fields

Purpose of Processing

• User identification and core service operation
• Comment moderation, spam handling, and abuse prevention
• Handling correction, rebuttal, deletion, temporary-block, and privacy requests
• Responding to student-support or consultation requests
• Managing newsletter confirmation flows and reader preference records
• Privacy-minimizing traffic measurement, security review, and anomalous-use detection

Retention and Deletion

Data is deleted without delay when legal retention duties expire or the processing purpose is fulfilled. Pending newsletter intents and verification tokens are cleared after confirmation or expiry.

Resident registration numbers are not collected, and anti-spam honeypot fields plus timing signals are used only transiently for automated abuse checks.

Analytics (Google Analytics 4)

K-Study Times uses Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to measure site traffic and content engagement. GA4 collects page views, events, device/browser type, and approximate location (city-level) based on anonymized identifiers. IP addresses are anonymized by Google immediately on collection and are not stored by this service.

• Cookies used: _ga, _ga_3ZDPQBYGPT (GA4 standard identifier cookies)
• Retention: event-level data for 14 months, user-level data for 2 months (GA4 default)
• Opt-out: browser cookie blocking, private/incognito mode, or Google's opt-out browser add-on (https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout)
• Processor's (Google's) privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy

Data collected by GA4 is processed by Google as a data processor; K-Study Times only reviews aggregated reports. Google Signals and ad ID linking are not enabled.
