Sookmyung Women's University's 2027 spring international undergraduate admission is conducted in three rounds. The online application, document deadline, interview notice, and result date differ by round, so applicants should not prepare based only on the final application date.

Applications are accepted in October for Round 1, November for Round 2, and December for Round 3. However, Round 3 is in principle limited to applicants residing in Korea; other applicants must first contact the International Admissions Team by email.

What kind of university is Sookmyung Women's University?

Sookmyung Women's University is a women's university in Yongsan-gu, Seoul. Its educational goals include cultivating creative, independent, service-minded professionals and women leaders. The international undergraduate admission covers multiple majors, but the structure differs by major: some use document review only, while others add interviews or practical examinations.

Understanding the university's character is the first step in determining eligibility. This admission is for female international undergraduate applicants, so applicants first need to compare their own eligibility with their intended major. Arts and design fields in particular may use different evaluation methods from general departments, so applicants must check not only the application round but also the major-specific screening method.

Round 3December 3, 10:00 a.m.–December 18, 5:00 p.m.December 18, 5:00 p.m.January 15, 2027

Online applications begin from the university's International Admissions page and proceed to the Jinhak Apply application system. The application fee is 150,000 won and is nonrefundable after the application is completed. Payment must be made through the application system, not by direct transfer to a university bank account.

Applicants print the online application and submit it with supporting documents by mail or in person. The destination is the international undergraduate admissions officer at the International Admissions Team, Room 106, Centennial Hall, Sookmyung Women's University. Originals are the rule; if an original cannot be submitted, a notarized copy or the university's original-verification procedure may be required. Documents not in Korean or English require a notarized translation.

Departments requiring interviews have separate schedules

Interview-schedule notices are issued on November 9 for Round 1, December 11 for Round 2, and December 28 for Round 3. The actual document and interview evaluations are scheduled for November 13, December 16, and December 30, respectively.

The departments subject to interviews are Dance, Piano, Orchestral Instruments, Vocal Music, Composition, Visual and Media Design, Industrial Design, and Environmental Design. Arts and physical-education fields may require a practical examination. Applicants to these departments must bring their admission ticket and identification and check the time and location posted on the university website and sent to their personal email. Admissions outside these departments are, in principle, based on document review.

How to choose an application round

Applicants need to choose a round based on the documents they have prepared and where they are residing. Overseas applicants should account for the time needed for international delivery and academic-document authentication and consider Round 1 or Round 2. Because Round 3 is restricted to Korea residents and the application and document deadlines coincide, it should not be treated as a last chance without prior inquiry.

Registration for successful applicants will take place during January 2027, and detailed tuition-payment instructions will be provided with the admission results. Classes are scheduled to begin on March 2. Before applying, applicants need to compare the admission units, freshman or transfer eligibility, language requirements, and major-specific additional documents against their own circumstances in the Korean-language admissions guide.
