Degree programme D-2
For D-2 at an excellent accredited university, the Ministry of Justice framework may permit a Korean-mission application, a domestic Certificate of Visa Eligibility or an e-visa. At an accredited university, the mission route applies; master's (D-2-3) and doctoral (D-2-4) programmes may also be eligible for an e-visa. This is the maximum permitted range, not a promise that every university operates every route.
Korean language course D-4-1
For D-4-1 at an excellent accredited university, the framework may permit either a Korean-mission application or a domestic Certificate of Visa Eligibility. At an accredited university, the mission route applies. For nationals of China, Vietnam, Mongolia or Uzbekistan entering a general university for D-4-1, issuance is available only through a Certificate of Visa Eligibility, not the direct mission-application route. Other general-university cases must be checked by nationality and Ministry of Justice institution category.
Where no nationality-specific exception applies, a sole permitted route is the default. Where several routes are permitted, a Korean-mission application is the principle, and the routes actually operated vary by university. A mission application should normally be filed with the Korean mission responsible for the applicant's country of residence or the location of their last school. Confirm current instructions with the university and competent mission or seek detailed advice.
