In 2025 there were 411,687 arrivals on the D-2 Student status — 2.1% of all foreign arrivals that year. These are arrival counts, not people. Somebody entering several times in a year is counted each time — this is not the number of residents. The largest groups were China 243,969 (59.3%), Vietnam 46,156 (11.2%), Mongolia 14,693 (3.6%).
