What is the Seoul Foreign Resident Center?
The Seoul Foreign Resident Center is a comprehensive support hub for foreign residents established by the Seoul Metropolitan Government in 2014. It provides multilingual daily-life counseling, professional legal and labor counseling, Korean and computer education, cultural programs and support for foreign resident communities. This class is a digital education program in which foreign residents use generative AI and video-editing tools to produce an actual project.
Weekend and weekday class schedules
The weekend class runs every Sunday from October 11 through October 25, from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. The weekday class runs every Friday from October 16 through October 30, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Both classes consist of three sessions, three hours per session.
What will participants learn?
The class covers how to turn a story idea into image prompts and arrange generated scenes to match the flow of a video. It also includes creating narration with Google AI Studio and editing scenes and sound with VLLO.
The class proceeds through “story planning → image generation → AI narration production → scene and sound editing → finished video.” Participants learn the production process of turning a written story into images and audio, editing them in scene order and combining them into one video storybook.
Rather than learning image generation, narration and video editing separately, the course is structured to help participants learn the sequence for connecting the three tools into a single finished product.
Instruction is conducted in Korean. To apply, participants first consult the staff member by phone and then visit the center to register.
How to apply and where the class is held
Classes are held in Room 401 of the Seoul Foreign Resident Center, 40 Dosin-ro, Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul. Prospective participants should first call to discuss eligibility and remaining seats, then bring identification and visit the center to apply.
For inquiries, contact staff member Kim Nam-ji at 02-2229-4922. Those who need guidance in multiple languages can use the center’s main number, 02-2229-4900. Comparing the dates and times of the weekend and weekday classes before applying can help participants choose their preferred class and complete registration more quickly.
