Songgok University (President Wang Deok-yang) signed memorandums of understanding (MOU) with 24 local study-abroad agencies in Hanoi, Vietnam, from July 13 to 16, aimed at recruiting international students and revitalizing international exchange.

The visit was undertaken to expand the university's base for recruiting outstanding Vietnamese students and to build a stable international cooperation network. By signing agreements in succession with major study-abroad agencies in the Hanoi area, the university established a practical framework for student recruitment cooperation.

The Vietnamese study-abroad agencies participating in the agreements showed strong interest in Songgok University's support systems for cultivating talent who settle in the region long term, including its systematic international student management system, stable educational environment, dormitory and living support, Korean language education, and career and employment support. In particular, an educational environment in which international students can move steadily from their studies to employment and on to settlement in the local community was regarded as a major strength.

In addition, the settlement support policies of Gangwon State and Chuncheon City, along with the university's industry-linked education and employment programs, drew positive responses from Vietnamese study-abroad agency officials and students hoping to study abroad, and were assessed as an educational model that goes beyond simply studying abroad to let graduates live stably in the local community after graduation.

Building on these memorandums of understanding, Songgok University plans to further expand its recruitment of outstanding students in Vietnam, continue strengthening support for international students' academic and daily-life adjustment, and broaden its international exchange network to step up its efforts in cultivating globally competitive talent who settle in the region long term.

Songgok University also held an admissions information session in Hanoi this past June attended by 37 Vietnamese study-abroad agencies; details are available in the Songgok University Hanoi admissions session article.
