A permanent online fair has opened on Study in Korea, where international students can check information about studying in Korea at any time. The Ministry of Education and the National Institute for International Education said that, from April 8, they placed four areas in one location: language training, English tracks, junior colleges and local governments.

Study in Korea is a study-abroad information channel used by about 12 million visitors each year. The permanent fair gathers information that is dispersed by admissions period by topic, enabling students first exploring study in Korea to compare institution types and regions.

Information in four exhibition sections

Exhibition sectionWhat to see first
Language trainingKorean-language programs, providers and application schedules
English tracksDegree programs taught in English and university information
Junior collegesVocational, practice-oriented programs and institution guidance
Local governmentsRegional study policies and living and settlement support

Even students looking only for degree programs can check Korean-language preparation routes in the language-training section and compare practice-oriented majors in the junior-college section. The regional section is used to check local-government support and regional-event information that can be easy to miss on university pages.

Online consultations and webinars

The first-half webinar admissions briefing held from April 8 to 19 provided university-specific question-and-answer boards, online chat rooms and recorded-video replay. Forty universities participated, and the second-half admissions briefing is scheduled for late November.

Order for use before applying

First decide on the desired degree and major, then narrow institution candidates through the English-track, junior-college and regional sections. Next check eligibility, tuition, dormitories and application periods in each university's official admissions guide. The fair's explanations are a starting point for finding candidates; actual application conditions are set by the university's guide for the relevant semester.

The permanent fair's advantage is that one search can broaden the range of institution types. Students who searched only universities in the Seoul metropolitan area may discover other choices in the regional section, and those who looked only at degree programs can compare junior colleges and English tracks as well. Before a final decision, however, recheck the official admissions guide and international-office guidance.
