Study 200 hours over 10 weeks, 4 hours each weekday

Ajou University International Education Center’s Regular Program runs for 10 weeks per term, totaling 200 hours. Classes meet 5 days a week from Monday through Friday, for 4 hours a day. The program has Levels 1 through 6, and the current official page says each class has about 18 students.

New students take a speaking, listening, reading and writing level test before being placed in a class. In general, Levels 4–6 meet in the morning from 09:00–12:50, while Levels 1–3 meet in the afternoon from 13:30–17:20. Instruction covers vocabulary and grammar, reading, writing, speaking and listening, with TOPIK and university-level academic writing preparation included at appropriate levels.

Tuition is KRW 1,500,000 per term; the new-student application fee is KRW 100,000

Applicants pay international remittance fees, and any shortfall caused by exchange-rate differences may have to be paid after admission. The university also states that D-4 students are provided indemnity-insurance support at no charge during their enrollment.

Prepare the application as one sequence, from account creation to the visa application

The first step is to create an account on the Ajou University International Education Center Online Application system. The process then proceeds as follows.

  1. Create an Online Application account.
  2. Complete the application and attach the required files.
  3. Undergo document and interview screening and check the admission result.
  4. Admitted applicants pay tuition and send the original documents by post.
  5. Wait for the university to confirm payment.
  6. Receive the Standard Admission Certificate and required visa documents.
  7. After receiving the Standard Admission Certificate and visa documents, apply for the visa.
  8. Plan for the November 20 level test and November 27 orientation.
  9. Begin classes on December 4.

Applicants from Myanmar, Nepal and Bangladesh who want to use the Visa Issuance Confirmation route must complete the first application step above by September 11. According to the university notice, if an application is submitted after September 11, the university will issue only a Standard Admission Certificate.

D-4 applicants should first prepare authenticated academic records and a bank balance certificate showing at least KRW 10,000,000

The current Admissions Guide lists the following basic documents for D-4 applicants.

  • Online admission application
  • 1 copy of the graduation certificate from the final school and 1 copy of the transcript for all school years: originals with an Apostille or confirmation from a Republic of Korea consulate. If the documents are in a language other than Korean or English, also prepare original notarized translations.
  • 1 copy of an English-language bank balance certificate: at least KRW 10,000,000, issued no more than 30 days before submission, while the current page separately states a deposit period of at least 3 months. The balance may be shown in KRW, USD or the applicant’s local currency.
  • Parents’ employment certificate and income certificate: submit English translations.
  • Family relationship certificate or birth certificate: prepare a document that verifies the family relationship, and check the additional required documents if family members reside in Korea.
  • Guarantor documents: prepare them if required by the university.
  • Copy of the passport biographical page

Applicants from mainland China and visa holders already residing in Korea have separate document requirements. In these cases, do not simply follow the basic list above; select the applicable category on the admissions page and prepare the documents listed there.

Eligibility starts at high-school graduation or an equivalent level

Eligible applicants are overseas Koreans and foreign nationals who have graduated from high school or hold an equivalent academic qualification. This is a regular Korean-language program operated by the Ajou University International Education Center, not admission to an undergraduate or graduate degree program.

Apostille or consular confirmation of academic documents and notarized translations can take time. For overseas applicants in particular, the process continues from the online application to mailing originals after admission, so it is more efficient to secure the authenticated original academic documents in advance rather than preparing only upload files at the deadline.

Study on the Suwon campus

  • General applicants: Complete the Online Application by September 23.
  • Visa Issuance Confirmation route for Myanmar, Nepal and Bangladesh: Apply by September 11 and check the interview schedule running through September 18.
  • D-4 applicants: First meet the authentication requirements for graduation and transcript documents and the issuance conditions for an English-language bank balance certificate showing at least KRW 10,000,000.
  • Admitted applicants: Follow the university’s instructions to pay tuition, mail the original documents, and then receive the Standard Admission Certificate and visa documents.
  • Entry schedule: Plan around the November 20 level test, November 27 orientation and December 4 start of classes.

Official details can be checked in the Winter 2026 admission application notice, Admissions Guide, Regular Program, and Korean-language program admission guidelines.
