Songgok University Briefs 37 Hanoi Study-Abroad Agencies on International Admissions

Songgok University held an international admissions briefing in Hanoi on June 17 for representatives of local study-abroad agencies.

According to the university, representatives from 37 Hanoi-based agencies attended. The event was organized to explain the university’s international admissions process and expand communication with education and study-abroad partners in Vietnam.

The university presented its major academic programs, application procedures for international students, curricula, residence hall arrangements, student support services and campus life. The information was intended to help local advisers give prospective students a clearer account of admission and study conditions.

Jeon Jeong-hwan, director of international affairs, explained the university’s approach to combining Korean-language learning with practical skills in each field of study. He said the curriculum is intended to help students understand Korean society and workplaces and prepare a more specific career plan after graduation.

The university also emphasized direct communication with local agencies so that applicants can review their academic program and career direction before enrollment. Career-oriented training, however, does not guarantee employment or a change of immigration status after graduation. Eligibility depends on the student’s major, qualifications, Korean proficiency, job conditions and the rules in force at the time of application.

The director of the Hanam City Family Center and Lee Chan-joo, an executive officer of GEA’s Korean corporation, also attended. Participants discussed international student recruitment, connections with local communities and student support after arrival in Korea.

Songgok University said it plans to use the Hanoi session to strengthen its network with Vietnamese agencies and education providers and to continue providing information on admissions, academic programs and student services.
