KIT Welcomes 23 International Students for 2026 Summer Korean Language Program at Gimhae Airport

Kyungnam College of Information & Technology (President Kim Tae-sang), known as "Busan's representative community college," announced that, as new international students for its 2026 Summer Korean Language Program are arriving in phases, 23 international students arrived at Gimhae International Airport on June 4.

The students who arrived that day consisted of 22 Vietnamese nationals and one Mongolian national. Kim Hong-gil, Director of the Office of International Affairs at KIT, and staff members from the office visited Gimhae International Airport and welcomed the students on site. After completing arrival procedures, the students traveled to campus by a dedicated bus arranged by the college.

After arriving at KIT, the students moved into the residence halls. KIT's residence halls have a total capacity of 1,086 beds and are operated as two-person and three-person rooms, with male and female living areas separated by floor. Dormitory staff provided the students with guidance on the use of shared facilities, including kitchens and laundry rooms, as well as residence hall rules and precautions for communal living.

The students then attended an orientation covering the academic calendar, preparation of residence- and academic-related documents, campus life, and other information needed after arrival. The college is supporting new international students' adjustment by connecting airport arrival support, residence hall check-in, daily-life guidance and academic guidance.

KIT plans to provide structured counseling and academic management so that students who complete the Korean Language Program can continue into degree programs according to their goals and aptitudes. The college also plans to support international students in developing into the talent needed by local communities and industry by linking Korean language education with major-specific education.

Kim Hong-gil, Director of the Office of International Affairs, said, "KIT is an institution certified by the Korean government for its international education competency, and we have completed all preparations so that KIT can be the best choice for students preparing to study in Korea."
