Fall 2026 Group Visa Applications: Seoul Women's University on Aug. 6, Dongguk Change-of-Status Deadline Aug. 14

Ahead of the fall 2026 semester, Seoul Women's University, Dongguk University and Sejong University have announced group application schedules for international student visa services. The nearest deadline is Seoul Women's University's Aug. 6 submission date for extensions of stay. Seoul Women's University Holds First Extension Session on Aug. 6

According to the Seoul Women's University notice, documents for extensions of stay will be accepted on Aug. 6, Sept. 4 and Sept. 16. New foreign resident registration applications will be accepted only on Sept. 4.

Applications are accepted from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., with a lunch break from noon to 1 p.m., at the Global Lounge on the second floor of the 50th Anniversary Memorial Hall. The KRW 80,000 extension fee and KRW 55,000 foreign resident registration fee must be paid in cash.

Enrollment and transcript certificates required for an extension of stay must have been issued within five days of the application date. New students and exchange students for the fall semester can obtain enrollment certificates only after Sept. 1, so they should use a September session.

Dongguk University Opens New Foreign Resident Registration on Aug. 10

The Dongguk University notice applies to international degree students enrolled in the fall semester. Korean language trainees should contact the Korean Language Center, while exchange students should contact the Office of International Relations separately.

New foreign resident registration applications will be accepted online in two rounds from Aug. 10 through Sept. 17. The deadline for a change of status is Aug. 14, while the notice says extensions of stay may be submitted at any time. The listed fees are KRW 25,000 for new registration, KRW 75,000 for an extension and KRW 150,000 for a change of status.

Dongguk University's group application process is online only. New registration and change-of-status applications cannot be submitted outside the designated periods.

Sejong University's Remaining Group Session Is Aug. 14

The Sejong University notice scheduled two group application sessions during the summer vacation. The July 21 session has ended. The remaining session will be held from 1:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Aug. 14 in Room B102 of the Daeyang AI Center.

The session covers D-2 extensions of stay and changes of status from a language program to a bachelor's program, from a bachelor's to a master's program, and from a master's to a doctoral program. Sejong University advised new fall-semester students to complete their change of status before classes begin on Sept. 1.

New Foreign Resident Registration Is Required Within 90 Days of Entry

According to Ministry of Justice guidance, a foreign national intending to stay more than 90 days from the date of entry must complete foreign resident registration within 90 days of entering South Korea. Students who are not eligible for a university group application or cannot use the scheduled dates can reserve a visit through Hi Korea and apply at the immigration office responsible for their place of residence.

The first approaching date is Aug. 6 at Seoul Women's University. Dongguk University's new foreign resident registration opens on Aug. 10, while Dongguk's change-of-status deadline and Sejong University's remaining group application session fall on Aug. 14.
