62 Gyeonggi universities recruiting international students; 58 with confirmed addresses are spread across 23 cities and counties

Gyeonggi has 62 universities recruiting international students: 32 are 4-year universities and 30 are junior colleges. Of them, 58 could be matched accurately to official institutional profiles and campuses across 23 cities and counties in Gyeonggi. Together, these schools reported 32,852 international students in 2025.

This distribution cannot be explained by a few subway stations, as university districts in Seoul often can. Yongin has 7 institutions and Hwaseong has 5, while Suwon, Bucheon, Anseong, and Anyang each have 4. Campuses stretch from Seongnam to Pocheon, so even universities located in Gyeonggi differ greatly in their day-to-day catchment areas, nearby industries, and access to Seoul.

14 institutions in Seongnam, Suwon, and Yongin, with 13,046 international students

Fourteen universities with confirmed addresses are located in the three cities of Seongnam, Suwon, and Yongin. Their reported international enrollment for 2025 was 5,045 in Seongnam, 3,821 in Suwon, and 4,180 in Yongin, for a total of 13,046.

Seongnam has Gachon University, Dong Seoul University, and Shingu College. Gachon University's Global Campus and two junior colleges are in one city, offering both 4-year degree programs and vocational education. Suwon has Ajou University and Kyonggi University, along with Dongnam Health University and Suwon Women's University. A comprehensive university, health-focused junior colleges, and a women's vocational education institution create distinct choices within the same city.

Yongin has the largest number of institutions: 6 4-year universities, including Kangnam University, Dankook University, Luther University, Myongji University, Yong In University, and Calvin University, plus Yongin Arts & Science University. The names of some schools include Seoul or another region, which is why applicants must check the campus address again during the actual application process.

18 institutions in five western cities, with junior colleges making up more than half

The five cities of Bucheon, Anyang, Hwaseong, Siheung, and Ansan have 18 institutions: 8 are 4-year universities and 10 are junior colleges. Their combined reported international enrollment is 7,327.

Siheung has Tech University of Korea and Gyeonggi University of Science and Technology, while Ansan has Seoul Institute of the Arts, Shin Ansan University, and Ansan University. Hwaseong is home to the University of Suwon, Hyupsung University, Suwon Catholic University, Suwon Science College, and Jangan University. Looking at the industrial cities where campuses are located rather than at university names makes the placement of educational options in engineering and manufacturing, the arts, health, and services clearer.

Gyeonggi's university-support policy follows this structure as well. In 2025, Gyeonggi selected 50 RISE participating universities and set separate tasks for future-growth industries, regional industry clusters, lifelong vocational education, and growth drivers in northern Gyeonggi. In 2026, it renamed the framework the Anchor system and additionally selected 8 G-BRIDGE schools and 4 G-Meister colleges for junior colleges. The policy direction of viewing local universities together with industry and jobs continues.

8 institutions confirmed in five northern cities

In northern Gyeonggi, 8 institutions in Goyang, Namyangju, Uijeongbu, Yangju, and Pocheon could be matched accurately: Korea Aerospace University, Kyungbok University, Kyungmin University, Kyungdong University, Seojeong University, Yewon Arts University, Daejin University, and CHA University. These schools reported a combined 9,097 international students in 2025.

Yangju has the largest reported total at 5,793, of which 5,092 came from Seojeong University. This does not mean the entire city has the same scale evenly; it is a case where the concentration of international students at one university substantially changes the regional total. Pocheon has Daejin University and CHA University, and Namyangju has Kyungbok University, so the north also has distinct pillars of comprehensive universities, health education, and junior colleges.

58 universities by city and county

The table includes 58 institutions. As of July 22, corresponding addresses could not be found in the original institutional-profile data for Daekyeung University Gyeonggi Campus and Seoyeong University Gyeonggi Campus. For Shinhan University, it could not be determined whether the recruitment applied to the Dongducheon main campus or the Uijeongbu second campus; for Eulji University, it could not be determined whether it applied to the Seongnam second campus or the Uijeongbu third campus. These four institutions are included in the count of 62 universities, but excluded from the city-and-county table and regional totals.

In Gyeonggi, check the campus before the university

When choosing a Gyeonggi university, looking only at its name can make it easy to miss the actual living area. A university can be in different cities depending on its campus, and even within the same city or county, commuting routes and nearby industries differ. Seongnam, Suwon, and Yongin cluster large 4-year universities and junior colleges; Bucheon, Anyang, Hwaseong, Siheung, and Ansan have a high share of junior colleges; and in the north, international students are heavily concentrated at particular universities even among a smaller number of schools.
