Gyeonggi Province has 32 four-year universities that recruit international students. Among them, the 30 institutions whose schools and campuses could be matched precisely to disclosure data enrolled 18,628 international students in 2025. Their median average annual undergraduate tuition for the 2026 academic year was KRW 7,552,034.

Of the 30 institutions, Hankyong National University is the sole national university and the other 29 are private. Average annual tuition ranges widely, from KRW 1,760,000 at Joong-Ang Sangha University to KRW 9,592,700 at Myongji University. The lowest and highest figures, however, come from institutions with very different founding purposes and academic offerings. The median of KRW 7,550,000 is more useful for understanding the middle range among Gyeonggi's four-year universities.

The 10 universities with the most international students: tuition ranges from KRW 7,180,000 to KRW 9,170,000

Gachon University alone reports 4,996 students, accounting for 26.8% of all international students at the 30 institutions. Gachon University and Ajou University together have 7,407. Gyeonggi also has religious and special-purpose universities with single-digit international-student enrollment. Even within the same category of Gyeonggi four-year universities, the pace at which institutions build experience in academic, administrative and daily-life support for international students inevitably varies.

Dormitory capacity among the 10 institutions also varies from 11.5% to 38.3%. These percentages are based on the entire enrolled student body, not places reserved for international students. Students seeking an actual room should check the international-student allocation notice for the relevant semester.

Gachon University: a dedicated college for 4,996 international students

Gachon University's Global Campus is in Seongnam. It reported 4,996 international students in 2025, the largest number among Gyeonggi's four-year universities. Average annual tuition is KRW 8,263,207, and the institution-wide dormitory capacity is 12.5%.

Gachon University established an International College for international students in December 2024. It opened with 8 departments and majors: business administration, media communication, tourism management, psychology, computer engineering, international studies, Korean studies and Korean-language education. The university placed Korean-language education and initial adjustment programs within the college alongside major courses.

The residence-hall schedule runs separately from the admissions schedule. Applications by international students for Student Residence Hall No. 1 for the second semester of the 2026 academic year closed on August 7, and results are announced on August 13. Students must therefore check dormitory notices separately even after admission.

Ajou University: 28 departments and multilingual admissions information

Ajou University in Suwon had 2,411 international students in 2025. Its average annual tuition is KRW 8,262,018 and its dormitory capacity is 28.4%. Tuition is similar to Gachon University's, but the dormitory capacity and institutional support structure differ.

Ajou University says it offers international undergraduate admission through 28 departments. Its admissions guide and online application instructions for the second semester of the 2026 academic year were provided in Korean, English, Chinese and Vietnamese. Applications for that round have closed, but the guide and application procedure remain available for review.

The admissions website provides more than an application guide. It has separate links for visa and residence matters, dormitories, counseling, learning support, employment and cultural experiences. Applicants can check departments and language requirements during the application stage and, after admission, move from the same site to the offices providing daily-life support.

Hankyong National University, Gyeonggi's only national four-year university

Hankyong National University in Anseong is the only national university among the 32 institutions in this comparison. It had 245 international students in 2025; its average annual tuition in 2026 was KRW 4,045,382, and its dormitory capacity was 24.7%. Its tuition is about KRW 3,510,000 lower than the median for the 30 institutions.

The university operates Anseong and Pyeongtaek campuses. This disclosure comparison uses the Anseong main-campus figure that is accurately linked to the authoritative international-recruitment record. International new and transfer admissions for the second half of the 2026 academic year were conducted in several rounds from April through June and are now closed. Future applicants should recheck the campus and recruitment unit in the new admissions guide.
